Psychology Graduate – SEND Progress Partner

Are you a high-performing Psychology Graduate looking to gain meaningful, practical experience supporting children and young adults with SEND?

A specialist school in Croydon is looking for an enthusiastic and resilient Psychology Graduate to join its team as a Progress Partner, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs through 1:1 and small-group support.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Child Psychology, SEND, Mental Health, Teaching or another child-focused profession, providing at least a year of hands-on experience within a specialist education setting.

The Role | Progress Partner:

  • You will work closely with pupils to remove barriers to learning, develop independence and support their academic, social and emotional development.
  • The school takes a holistic approach, combining academic teaching with targeted SEND and therapeutic interventions, while placing significant emphasis on inclusion, independence and self-worth.
  • You will gain valuable experience understanding individual needs, building trusted relationships, supporting emotional regulation and adapting your approach to help young people make meaningful progress.

What You Need to Have:

  • A 2:1 or above Psychology degree from a leading UK university
  • Genuine interest in SEND, child development and mental health
  • Strong academic ability and excellent communication skills
  • Patience, resilience and the ability to build positive relationships
  • A desire to gain at least one year of practical experience before pursuing further study or training

Full-time contract for the 26-27 academic year in the first instance, term-time only.

Previous SEND experience is desirable, but graduates with the right academic background and attitude are encouraged to apply.
