Maths Teacher (Maternity Cover) | Sutton

 

Are you an exceptional Maths Teacher with QTS and a proven track record of delivering outstanding academic outcomes?

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-achieving, academically ambitious secondary school where students are encouraged to stretch themselves and excel in Mathematics.

 

With a strong focus on academic excellence and achievement in Maths and STEM, the school offers an engaging environment for a subject specialist who enjoys challenging able students and maintaining exceptionally high standards.

 

Starting 2nd November 2026 until initially 4th January 2027, this part-time maternity cover involves teaching on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays across Years 7–10, with potential Year 13 registration cover.

 

Although initially a short-term contract, there is a strong possibility of an extension beyond January, subject to the school's requirements.

What do you need?

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
  • Exceptional subject knowledge and the ability to explain complex mathematical concepts clearly.
  • A proven track record of delivering excellent academic outcomes and securing strong pupil progress in Maths.
  • High expectations of pupil achievement, with the ability to stretch and challenge students of differing abilities.
  • Strong classroom management, organisation and communication skills.
  • Availability to work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week from 2nd November 2026.
