Are you a passionate English Teacher looking for a full-time teaching opportunity? We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a supportive and academically ambitious secondary school in Chelmsford from January 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity for an English Teacher to join a dedicated English department, deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons, and inspire students to develop their analytical skills, creativity, and love of reading and writing.

The Role | English Teacher

• Full-time English Teacher role starting January 2027

• Teach engaging English Language and Literature lessons across the secondary curriculum

• Plan and deliver creative, challenging, and well-structured lessons

• Develop students’ reading, writing, comprehension, and analytical skills

• Support high standards of teaching, learning, and academic achievement

• Work collaboratively with experienced English teachers and department colleagues

• Contribute to a positive classroom environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential

About You

• PGCE in English or a related teaching qualification from a recognised UK university

• UK recongnised Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, English Language, or a related subject

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or working towards it where appropriate

• Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills

• A genuine passion for English and inspiring young learners

• High expectations of students and a commitment to their academic progress

• Strong organisational, interpersonal, and planning skills
