Are you a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step in your career?

An ‘Outstanding’ primary school in Chelmsford is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Primary HLTA to join its supportive team, helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally in a positive learning environment.


Primary HLTA – The Role

  • Deliver engaging lessons across the primary age range, covering classes and supporting teachers when required.

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of learning needs, helping them make strong academic progress.

  • Lead small-group interventions to develop pupils’ confidence, understanding, and essential skills.

  • Support classroom management and create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all pupils can thrive.

  • Work closely with teachers and the wider school team to monitor progress and ensure pupils receive the support they need.


The ideal Primary HLTA will:

  • Hold HLTA status or have substantial experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school setting.

  • Have strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and confidence delivering lessons independently.

  • Be an enthusiastic, adaptable, and proactive individual with excellent communication and classroom management skills.

  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.

  • Be confident building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
