Lead Practitioner for Geography | Barking and Dagenham

Are you a passionate Geography Teacher who is committed to positively impacting the lives of children and young people in East London?

A progressive, oversubscribed school in Barking is looking to recruit a Lead Practitioner for Geography to join their high-achieving Humanities department to start in September 2024.

Lead Practitioner for Geography | The Role:

  • Delivering outstanding teaching and learning within Geography lessons and intervention sessions.
  • Providing a coaching and mentoring role for staff and students in interview programmes within the department.
  • Providing evaluative feedback on the impact of learning strategies on student progress to senior and middle leaders.
  • Providing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to teachers within the Humanities department.
  • Lead Practitioner Scale 1-10 (Inner London)

Lead Practitioner for Geography | Job Requirements:

  • Hold a QTS, a relevant undergraduate degree and be able to show evidence of ongoing CPD.
  • Be able to demonstrate outstanding teaching practice and excellent behaviour management.
  • Willingness to use a range of teaching and learning techniques which engage and support learners.
  • Providing an effective environment through classroom management.
