Science Academic Mentor | Harrow | September 2024 start!

Are you a Science Graduate who would be interested in becoming a specialised Science Academic Mentor? We are looking to speak with Science Academic Mentors looking to get into education, and to get some class-based experience before beginning their PGCE / PGDE, or who want to use their specialist subject knowledge. If you're a talented Science Graduate who is a STEM specialist, then this role will be for you!

I am looking to speak with anyone who is an aspiring Science Academic Mentor, and who has ambitions to go into the education field and gain invaluable experience before beginning Teacher Training, or before endeavouring into a future career.

Science Academic Mentor | About the role:

• A Science Academic Mentor is a term-time-only role!
• Get paid up to £105 a day (inclusive of holiday pay) | Paid weekly via PAYE
• Large Secondary School in Harrow. A Science Academic Mentor will assist students from Year 7, up to Year 13 students applying to top universities.
• A Science Academic Mentor will work alongside a fantastic team of Teachers and Support Staff to deliver a fantastic standard of education for the students.
• Support students in a classroom setting, in 1:1 meetings, or small group interventions.
• Work with high achieving students as well as students who aren't quite hitting their targets, providing the same level of care and attention to their work.

Science Academic Mentor | About you:

• We are looking for a Science Academic Mentor with a good Science Degree from a Top 25 UK University
• Has an interest in enrolling in a Teacher Training Programme, a PGCE, or working with children in the future.
• Can teach engaging lessons to students up to KS5
• If a Science Academic Mentor has tutoring experience, it would be advantageous
• Is passionate about teaching students from a range of backgrounds in a diverse and inclusive environment.
