About the School:
We are working with a dynamic and inclusive secondary school located in the vibrant borough of Redbridge, East London. The school prides itself on creating a nurturing environment where every student is supported to achieve their best academically and personally. With a focus on both academic achievement and the personal development of each student, the school is committed to providing a safe, engaging, and inspiring educational experience. As the school continues to grow, we are looking to recruit a passionate and dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join the team and support students in their learning journey.

The Role:
We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Secondary Teaching Assistant to support students across a range of subjects. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced teaching staff to enhance the educational experience of secondary-aged students, particularly those who require additional support. You will work closely with teachers to ensure that all students, including those with special educational needs (SEN), are able to fully engage with the curriculum and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with small groups or individual students, providing targeted academic support to improve their learning outcomes.
  • Assist with the creation and preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN), adapting strategies to meet individual learning requirements.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, offering feedback to teachers to ensure that appropriate support is provided.
  • Assist with classroom management and foster a productive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
  • Encourage the social, emotional, and behavioural development of students.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities and school events as required.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experienced or qualified with a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), or have significant experience working in a secondary school setting.
  • Passionate about education and supporting students to reach their full potential.
  • Skilled at building positive relationships with students and working as part of a team.
  • Patient, empathetic, and confident in providing one-on-one or small group support to students.
  • Able to adapt to the needs of individual students, especially those with SEN, and use strategies to support their learning.
  • Knowledgeable about safeguarding practices and committed to ensuring the wellbeing of students.
  • Well-organised and proactive in assisting teachers and contributing to the overall school environment.

Why Work here:

  • A welcoming and inclusive school community with a strong focus on student wellbeing.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training to support your career growth.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Access to a range of staff wellbeing initiatives and support.
  • Located in a thriving and diverse area with excellent public transport links to Central London.
