English Graduate Teaching Assistant – Literacy & Reading Support

Location: Hounslow, West London
Contract: September 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: £105.00 per day (PAYE)

A secondary school in Hounslow is searching for a bright and supportive English Graduate Teaching Assistant to work closely with students who need additional support with Literacy. If you’re hoping to become a teacher, this English Graduate Teaching Assistant role offers the perfect foundation.

As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll be supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them improve their comprehension, vocabulary, and confidence in written tasks. This English Graduate Teaching Assistant post is ideal for someone who enjoys grammar, literature, and making English accessible to all learners.

You’ll join a lovely team of support staff and get to know how a school operates from the inside out.

English Graduate Teaching Assistant – Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver reading and spelling interventions
• Assist with planning and resources for English lessons
• Support pupils with SEN or EAL needs in Literacy
• Promote a love of reading across the school

We’re looking for:

• A 2:1 or First-Class degree in English or a related subject
• Confident written and spoken English
• A calm, encouraging, and patient approach
• A passion for helping others learn
