Maths Support Assistant – Hounslow – September 2025 Start
Location: Hounslow, West London
Contract: September 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: £444.00 per week (PAYE)
Interviews: June/July 2025
Are you a confident Maths graduate who wants to gain hands-on experience in a school setting before starting teacher training or another education-related path?
A supportive secondary school in Hounslow is looking for a Maths Support Assistant to work with pupils who need extra help in Maths. This is a fantastic role for someone with strong numerical skills and a real interest in education and young people’s learning.
As a Maths Support Assistant, you’ll work with pupils in Years 7 to 11 who may be falling behind or lacking confidence in Maths. You’ll support pupils through small group sessions, one-to-one interventions, and in-class help alongside teachers. The school is known for its welcoming staff, strong values, and culture of mutual respect between teachers and students.
Key responsibilities:
- Helping pupils to understand key Maths concepts and develop their problem-solving skills
- Supporting learning during lessons and delivering small group sessions
- Encouraging pupils to become independent learners and think critically
- Providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCo to help monitor progress
We’re looking for:
- A 2:1 or above in Maths or a related subject
- Strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset
- An interest in working in education and supporting young learners
- Availability for the full academic year, from September 2025 to July 2026
