Primary Teaching Assistant – Richmond – September 2025 Start

 

Location: Richmond, South West London
Contract: September 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: £444.00 per week (PAYE)
Interviews: June/July 2025

 

Are you a graduate interested in a teaching career and looking for valuable experience in a primary school?

 

A lovely school in Richmond is looking for a Primary Teaching Assistant to work across Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 from September. This Primary Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to build their classroom confidence before teacher training or further study.

 

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you’ll help the class teacher with lesson delivery, classroom routines, and one-to-one or small group support. You’ll support pupils with reading, writing, maths and general engagement.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils in KS1 or KS2 with core subjects
  • Helping with reading groups, phonics and handwriting
  • Assisting with behaviour and classroom organisation
  • Working closely with teachers and SEND staff

 

We’re looking for:

  • A 2:1 or above in any subject
  • Experience with children in schools, clubs or tutoring
  • Good communication and enthusiasm for learning
  • Availability from September 2025 to July 2026
