English Academic Mentor – English Support Role
Location: Greenwich, SE7
Contract: January 2026 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)

Are you an English graduate looking to gain experience in education?
A well-regarded secondary school in Greenwich is seeking an English Academic Mentor to support students across the English department.
As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll work with pupils in KS3 to KS4, providing classroom assistance, subject-specific intervention, and academic mentoring. You’ll also support learners with SEN, helping to remove barriers to learning and promote engagement in English Literature and Language.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing in-class support in English Literature and Language
- Running 1:1 and group interventions for underachieving students
- Helping with lesson resources, planning, and marking
- Supporting students with SEND or EAL backgrounds
This role is ideal for aspiring English teachers or those interested in supporting students in English.
We’re looking for:
- A 2:1 or First-Class degree in English or related field
- A genuine interest in education and social development
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Commitment from January to July 2026
