Head of MFL | Lewisham | September Start
Are you an experienced MFL Teacher ready to lead a department from September?
A well-regarded secondary school in Lewisham is seeking a Head of MFL to lead their Modern Foreign Languages department up to KS5. This role would suit an established middle leader or experienced teacher with strong GCSE and A-Level outcomes who is ready to take full responsibility for curriculum and standards.
You will oversee the teaching of languages across KS3–KS5, ensuring consistency in planning, assessment and classroom practice. The school offers languages at GCSE and A-Level, and is keen to continue developing uptake at KS4 and KS5.
Head of MFL – Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the MFL department across KS3–KS5
• Teach your specialist language to GCSE and A-Level
• Oversee curriculum planning and assessment
• Monitor pupil progress and drive improvements in outcomes
• Line manage and support departmental staff
Person Specification:
• QTS and a degree in French, Spanish or a related language
• Proven track record of strong GCSE and A-Level results
• Previous leadership experience (desirable)
• Strong organisational skills and clear vision for the subject
