Job Description

Year 2 Teacher – Brent – September 2026

A committed Year 2 Teacher is required for a small, one-form-entry primary school in Brent from September 2026. This Year 2 Teacher role would suit a qualified primary teacher who enjoys working in a close-knit setting where staff know every pupil well, with the benefit of a stable KS1 team, strong parental links and a clear whole-school approach to teaching and learning.

  • Year 2 Teacher role in a one-form-entry primary school with approximately 210 pupils on roll.

  • Full-time, term-time-only Year 2 Teacher position paid on M3-M6 Inner London.

  • Small school environment with one class per year group, allowing the Year 2 Teacher to build strong relationships across the school.

  • Supportive SLT, experienced phase colleagues and a collaborative planning culture.

  • Based in Brent, with good transport links across North West London.

  • The successful Year 2 Teacher will take responsibility for a Year 2 class, delivering strong teaching across the full primary curriculum.

  • The school has a typically mixed intake, with around 15-20% of pupils receiving SEN support and a small number supported through EHCPs.

  • The Year 2 Teacher will need to have strong KS1 curriculum knowledge, ideally with experience in Year 2 assessment, phonics, writing moderation and preparing pupils for Key Stage 2.

  • QTS is essential, with applications welcomed from teachers with direct one-form-entry experience or those keen to teach in a smaller Brent primary school.

  • The successful Year 2 Teacher will be confident managing behaviour positively, using assessment to close gaps and supporting pupils with varied starting points.

  • The school has a clear focus on pupil progress, early literacy, inclusion and maintaining strong outcomes across Reading, Writing and Maths.

  • This Year 2 Teacher role would suit a reflective, organised and warm practitioner who wants to make a visible impact in a close school community.
