Sociology Teacher | Southwark
Are you a passionate Sociology Teacher looking for a new opportunity within a successful secondary school and sixth form? This Southwark school is seeking a well-qualified Sociology Teacher to join its Social Sciences provision, teaching students across KS4 and KS5.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Sociology Teacher who enjoys encouraging students to question the world around them, challenge different perspectives and develop strong analytical arguments. You will teach pupils through key sociological theories, research methods and contemporary issues, helping them develop the written and evaluative skills needed for GCSE and A-Level success.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging Sociology lessons across KS4 and KS5.
- Preparing students effectively for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
- Developing students' ability to analyse sociological theories and apply them to contemporary society.
- Teaching research methods and supporting students to interpret evidence and statistics.
- Encouraging structured debate and independent thinking.
- Assessing students' work and providing clear, constructive feedback.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards across the department.
The successful Sociology Teacher will:
- Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have a degree in Sociology or a closely related subject.
- Have experience teaching Sociology at secondary level.
- Ideally have experience teaching A-Level Sociology.
- Have strong subject knowledge across key sociological theories and research methods.
- Be able to inspire students to engage critically with complex social issues.
- Have high expectations of behaviour, effort and academic achievement.
