Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Potential for an Extended Placement

Are you a graduate or experienced Learning Support Assistant looking to support pupils in upper Key Stage 2?

A primary school in Colchester is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 from November 2026. The placement has the potential to extend beyond one term.

Working closely with class teachers, you will help pupils access learning, develop confidence and become more independent as they prepare for the next stage of their education.

Learning Support Assistant – Role Overview

• Full-time position, Monday to Friday

• November 2026 start

• Supporting teaching and learning across Year 5/6

• Providing individual and small-group support as required

• Helping pupils stay engaged and make progress

• Potential to continue for the remainder of the academic year

Learning Support Assistant – Person Specification

• Previous experience working with children or young people preferred

• An interest in supporting primary pupils, including those with additional needs

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A patient, proactive and encouraging approach

• A degree is desirable, but relevant experience is also welcomed
