School Librarian | Hammersmith
We are currently partnering with an outstanding secondary school in Hammersmith to recruit a School Librarian to manage, enhance, and develop the school's Learning Resource Centre (LRC).
The ideal candidate for this School Librarian role, will be passionate, creative, and forward-thinking, with a goal to promote extensive use of the LRC by both staff and students for educational purposes and to foster a love of recreational reading.
School Librarian Summary:
- Salary: £27,000 - £32,000, Full-time, Permanent
- Start Date: September 2024
School Librarian Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, oversee, and improve library services to engage both staff and students through strategic planning and various library-related initiatives.
- Stay informed about current publications for young people and use this knowledge to promote reading for pleasure within the school.
- Supervise the School Library, including administration, security, and pupil behaviour management.
- Participate in School Librarian networking group meetings to enhance continuing professional development (CPD).
School Librarian Requirements:
- A strong degree in a relevant subject or equivalent professional experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working with younger people.
- Knowledge and understanding of library and information skills.
- Proficiency in IT.
