English Graduate Teaching Assistant - Job Details:
- Outstanding Secondary School based in Hillingdon, West London
- £25,5239 (pro rata to term time only) | £491.15 per week (inclusive of holiday pay)
- First-Class or 2:1 English-related degree from a top UK university is required
- Strong set of A-Level and GCSE results
- Previous child-centred experience is desirable for this role
- Opportunity to begin your teacher training from September 2025
English Graduate Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting learners and encouraging parents, guardians and carers to participate positively in the lives of their child(ren) at school through better engagement.
- Supervising learners, as directed, in scheduled activities within and beyond the arrangements of the normal time tabled day; taking clear responsibility for their guidance, safety and well-being, including during unstructured periods such as break time.
- Working in partnership with other professional colleagues including class teachers by contributing to the planning and preparation of learning resources as is necessary to meet the needs of individuals and groups of learners.
- Using a variety of styles and methods of teaching suitably differentiated, which take into account the individual learning and linguistic needs.
- Developing schemes of work together with personalised study support programme(s) tailored to meet the needs of individual learners.
- Marking class work and homework thoroughly and constructively, so that learners understand how their work has been assessed and are able to use assessment as a means to improve their own standards of achievement.
To be considered for this English Graduate Teaching Assistant role you will need to have an excellent academic record including a minimum of a 2:1 degree from a top UK University. You will also need to demonstrate an excellent track record of attainment in your GCSE and A-Levels. Graduates who have with previous experience relevant to children will be better suited to this opportunity.
