SEN Teaching Assistant – Islington – October 2024 

 

Are you a graduate with a first-class or 2:1 degree looking to make a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants for primary schools across Islington. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a supportive, inclusive environment, working closely with experienced educators to help young learners thrive.

 

SEN Teaching Assistant | What we are looking for:

- A minimum of a 2:1 degree (first-class preferred) 

- Prior experience working in a school setting, particularly with children with SEN 

- A genuine passion for supporting children’s development and well-being 

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team 

- A patient and empathetic approach when working with diverse learning needs 

 

SEN Teaching Assistant | Your role: 

- Provide 1:1 or small group support to children with special needs 

- Assist class teachers in adapting lessons and materials to meet individual needs 

- Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that helps children succeed 

- Implement strategies to support students’ social, emotional, and academic growth 

- Work closely with the SENCO, parents, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for each student
