SEN Maths Teacher – Kingston-upon-Thames – Immediate Start (Until July 2025)

 

We are currently seeking a SEN Maths Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school in Kingston-upon-Thames, with an immediate start until July 2025. This role offers the opportunity to work with students primarily with Speech and Language Needs, including ASD, and a range of other Special Educational Needs (SEN) at KS2/KS3 level.

Key Responsibilities of the SEN Maths Teacher Role:

  • Delivering engaging and effective Maths lessons to students with SEN, including those with Speech and Language Needs and ASD
  • Providing tailored support to ensure students access the curriculum and reach their full potential
  • Creating and maintaining an inclusive, positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and confidence
  • Collaborating with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other professionals to provide the best possible support
  • Tracking and reporting student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs

 

SEN Maths Teacher - Essential Requirements:

  • 1st Class or 2:1 in a Maths degree from a top UK university
  • A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE, SCITT or Bachelor of Education (BEd) and a QTS
  • Previous SEN experience is preferred, particularly in supporting students with ASD and Speech and Language Needs
  • Previous Teaching Assistant
  • A genuine passion for working with students with additional learning needs
