1:1 Autism Support Assistant – Wimbledon

 

Join a supportive and welcoming Primary School and provide 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with non-verbal Autism.

 

This 1:1 Autism Support Assistant role is starting immediately and offers an annual salary of £18,750-£19,250.

1:1 Autism Support Assistant | Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with non-verbal Autism, ensuring they can access and thrive in their education.
  • Supporting the pupil in moments of dysregulation, guiding them back to a calm state where they can re-engage with learning.
  • Maintaining patience and resilience in challenging situations to create a safe and supportive learning environment.

 

1:1 Autism Support Assistant | Essential Qualities:

  • Resilience, perseverance, and a never-give-up attitude are critical for this role.
  • Prior experience working with non-verbal children and a strong understanding of how to support children with Autism.
  • The ability to stay calm and help dysregulated children refocus and engage with their learning again.
