Are you passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? A Secondary School in Barking & Dagenham is seeking a dedicated SEMH Support Assistant to provide crucial 1:1 and small group support for students.

SEMH Support Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to students with SEMH needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Lead interventions to improve academic progress and personal development.
- Recognise when to take students out of class for focused work in alternative settings.
- Collaborate with families, school staff, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
- Maintain a structured and nurturing environment to encourage positive behaviour and learning outcomes.
Essential Requirements:
- A 1:1 or 2:1 Psychology degree from a leading UK university.
- Previous experience working with SEN or SEMH students is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of SEMH strategies and best practices.
- Confident and proactive when managing challenging behaviour.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with families, school teams, and third parties.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to dynamic school environments.
