Your role as a SEMH Support Assistant:

  • Lead individual and small-group lessons focused on emotional, social, and academic development

  • Support students 1:1 with SEMH needs, ensuring their progress and attainment are prioritised

  • Confidently manage classroom behaviour and follow the school’s behaviour policy effectively

  • Collaborate with teaching staff and SEND team to maintain consistent support strategies

  • Demonstrate excellent communication with both colleagues and parents/carers

  • Adapt lessons and approaches creatively to meet the needs of each pupil

  • Work as part of a large, dynamic staff team, embracing a proactive and team-oriented approach

  • Strive toward leadership opportunities by showing dedication and initiative in your role

About You:

  • Hold a 1:1 Degree from a top 20 UK University and possess QTS

  • Previous experience supporting SEMH students is essential

  • Resilient and confident when handling challenging behaviour

  • Able to adapt to changing needs and situations with flexibility

  • Strong team player with a desire to progress into middle or senior leadership
