Are you an experienced and ambitious MFL Teacher looking for a leadership role in a high-achieving, Ofsted ‘Good’ school?
We are seeking a dedicated Head of MFL to lead the Spanish and French curriculum across KS3 and KS4 at a well-regarded secondary school in Lewisham. This is an exciting opportunity to drive the success of the Modern Foreign Languages department, ensuring outstanding teaching and learning.
Head of MFL – The Role:
- Permanent, full-time position starting September 2025
- Salary: Inner London MPS/UPS + TLR
- Lead and develop the MFL curriculum across KS3 and KS4 in Spanish and French
- Support and mentor a team of dedicated MFL teachers
- Ensure high standards of teaching and learning within the department
- Work closely with the SLT to drive progress and engagement in MFL

Head of MFL – Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching Spanish and French
- Proven track record of raising attainment in MFL at KS3 and KS4
- Experience leading or coordinating MFL within a school setting (or readiness to take on a leadership role)
- Ability to motivate and inspire staff and students
- Passion for languages and cultural education, ensuring students develop a love for MFL
