We are recruiting for a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a well-regarded boys’ secondary school in Barnet, supporting students aged 14–18 with special educational needs and academic interventions.

As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work across GCSE and A-Level year groups, supporting students with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, and anxiety. You will contribute to the school’s pastoral and academic provision, helping students develop emotional regulation, resilience, and learning strategies through targeted interventions and one-to-one support.

  • Support students within mainstream lessons alongside classroom teachers
  • Deliver structured interventions focused on emotional wellbeing and behaviour
  • Collaborate with the SEND department to monitor and support pupil progress
  • Assist students in developing effective learning strategies and coping mechanisms

This position is ideal for aspiring educational psychologists, clinical psychologists, teachers, or those interested in mental health and youth development. You will be supported by an experienced SENDCo and a wider team of graduate teaching assistants, many of whom progress into postgraduate study or teacher training.

We are looking for:

  • A First-Class or 2:1 degree in Psychology (or a closely related field)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs
  • A commitment to the full academic year from September 2025
